I use mIRC 6.16. While I was trying the /pop and the /pvoice commands yesterday, I've found a bug.

For example, doing a /pop 30 #channel nickname
will voice the nickname in about 13 or 14 seconds...

I tried several channels, several nicknames, several delays, and again, there's something wrong.
And I don't think the error is from the network.

yeah, i think that it voices the user when you use the /pop command is a bug..

..
and im not quite sure, but the /pop / /pvoice commands chose a number between the 2 randomly, but im not sure. of cource the error is not from the network, it dosent even know you used the /pop or /pvoice command, all it knows is that you sent it "mode #channel :+o/v nick" or somthing simular to that.

From the help file:
Quote:
/pop <delay> [#channel] <nickname>
Performs a delayed op on a nickname. The purpose of this command is to prevent a channel window filling up with op mode changes whenever several users have the same nickname in their auto-op section.

mIRC will pause around <delay> seconds before performing the op. If <delay> is zero, it does an immediate op. Before performing the op it checks if the user is already opped. If you do not specify the #channel, the current channel is assumed.

Now the million dollar question, how far away can you get and still be 'around'? grin

Maybe make this more clear in the help file, like a 5 second interval with mean of the given number (and standard distribution).

Ah, i knew there was something fishy about this post too

Yea
this isnt as much a bug as it is an ambiguous help file documentation of the command.

in fact, its not a bug at all

next time, maybe you should be 200% sure grin

Well, everybody post bugs here, even if they are not bugs.
