Forums Connection Issues GhostSurf/Proxy and mIRC

I need some help setting up mIRC for GhostSurf, I don't know how to do the settings on mIRC for GhostSurf proxy, the settings are 127.0.0.1 and port 7216.

Alright, this is getting a lot of reads, can't someone help me?

options (alt+o) > connect > firewall
Firewall support: select server
protocol: select proxy
hostname: enter IP of proxy
port: enter port of proxy server

enter uid and password if required

Now it won't connect. It times out.

correct port?

Yes, GhostSurf has an addon for IRC, and it tells me to use the port 7216. The proxy port for internet is 7212. I have tried them both, when I use 7212, it says firewall: closed connection, when I use 7216, it times out.

The Tenebril window for the IRC addon has three things,

Port (on this computer): 7216
Target IRC Server: irc.criten.net
Target IRC Port: 6667

I can change any of these settings, so if I should change them, just let me know to what.

Maybe try a different criten server, like leaf.criten.net

Same result, connection attempt timed out.

Well I don't know, maybe you have an AV that's blocking
connections to that port, I don't know if AV would block
local connections or not but it's worth checking.

I only have Norton AV with the worm protection turned on.

Try completely turning off all Norton stuff and try. If it works, you know it's Norton and can figure out what. If not, then you know it is something else.

Are you positive the proxy is up and running? If it's down or not allowing connections (or not allowing anonymous connections), you will time out.

I just ran a speed test on my anonymous internet, and it's running in top speed. I checked to see if an IP lookup site could find me, and it's anonymous.

Ok, turned off norton internet worm protection, still nothing.

Anyone ever figure this one out? I experience similiar issues and have tried a plethora of configurations. Also, I have googled this thing every way I can think of...
