Can anyone tell me why creating commands but do not documented them ??? ... I saw 3 others commands that were undocumented $nopnick , $nhnick and $nvnick.

$nopnick(chan,N) return nicks that are not op
$nhnick(chan,N) return nicks that are not halfop
$nvnick(chan,N) return nicks that are not voice

Someone told me of another one that was $nickmode that I didn't knew about ... that return nick prefixes (ohv) for channel modes ...

I suggest to create a mega help file to document those commands that are still available but that have been replaces by another one, like theses 3 that have been replaced by $nick(chan,N,ahovr, ahovr)

the way it's supposed to be !

You could try Adrenalins mIRC Chm Help 6.16 I've not used it but the reviews look impeccable.

I'm pretty certain it does list undocumented $identifiers etc.

The problem with documenting those ($nopnick, $nhnick, $nvnick) is that they are deprecated, and could be removed at any time. There is not much reason to document things that are being replaced, and doing so practically encourages people to use them ("but, it was in the help file last version, and now it suddenly doesn't work?!?!"). I do think that some things missing from the help file should be added, though, such as $nickmode, unless that too is deprecated. I'd also like to see the me: event prefix in the help file, as that is one that I find to be extremely useful, though a bit confusing when trying to explain to people that it's not a userlevel smile

edit: on the other hand, I can't think of a single thing that has actually been removed since it was deprecated. They always seem to just get hidden. Am I mistaken?

Having a separate page describing all deprecated identifiers/commands/operators/etc in the help file could be useful in that it then tells scripters what those things do if they ever come across them in an old script. The help file could also show what superceded them to allow easy reference for people updating old code.

Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.

That is a good point. Not everyone goes through versions.txt every new version, updating their scripts, like I do smile

Id like to see that for sure. Would be nice to have that "timeline reference".
