Forums mIRC Help MIRC stays on the top

I just downloaded MIRC for my old W2K laptop and for some reason, the danged thing always stays on the 'top' of the stack of windows unless I minimize it.

Usually, MIRC acts like any other window, in which clicking off of the MIRC window, said window (for instance, a web browser or word processor or what have you) comes to the 'front' of the stack and MIRC gets shuffled directly 'behind' the object that was just brought to the front.

MIRC is not doing this. It is staying on the 'top' of the stack no matter what. What the hell? I've looked everywhere for a feature or function in any of the options pulldowns to make MIRC not do this.

Ultimate frustration. This is destroying my productivity (as I have to use a little eraser nub style pointer device on my laptop)

Left click the mIRC icon once in top left corner, is 'On Top'
selected in the menu? Also, I've found that this sometimes
happens even when disabled and toggling it seems to fix it.

My mIRC stays on top too for the last month. It didn't before, but I go to the sites behind by clicking on the mIRC on the status bar, is that what it's called? it's to the right of Start; it's how I've always toggled between sites-I'd click on the site I wanted and voila it came up but with mIRC on now, that won't work, I need to click on mIRC alas I have a mindset and forget the rules and click on what I want which doesn't work now. I found an "On top" on the menu bar in mIRC, but it's inoperable.

EDIT - 10 minutes later - I found the On Top in the task bar, right click on mIRC and the was "on top" and it was checked. I was looking in the wrong place (at the top). So it's task bar, not status bar, learn something new every day. Thanks to Danthemandoo's post for 30/03/2005. Ahhh I rest easy now.
