Forums mIRC Help Odd "lag" problem

man when i use irc i cant do anything that involves video because it will make whatever it is lag like every few seconds. It like freezes for a second every few seconds. This happens when i watch a video or play counter-strike. Any suggestions are very much appreciated. My computer sucks, i have a 1ghz p3 256mb ram and a geforce 2 pro

All I can suggest is upgrade your computer. I have a 1GHz P3 also but 512 megs of DDR ram and a Gforce 3. Sometimes I watch DVD's while I IRC and it never lags. *shrugs*

I suggest you try this

//!debug off | !timer* off | !remote off

And see if the lag goes away, if it does its something your mircs doing, like xdccklipper running or something (damn but that thing lags me, all the xdcc bots all list at once for some reason and its like 5 to 10 seconds lag)

I tried that and and there was no change. Man i HATE having to close Mirc everytime i want to play cs. It doesn't even use a lot of memory.
