specifically channel windows, why can i not use /join -xn #channel and have it maximise the window and minimise? Ive tried doing a /join -x #channel and then a /hop -n #channel but it doesnt work. smirk Anyone have a solution.

if i type
/join -n #channel
it joins the channel and leaves me in my current channel with the new channel minmized ? perhaps your typing it wrong if your shortcutting with a /j -n #channel it wont work hope that helps

What i mean is, on connect I do a serious of /join commands.
For instance /join -x #Channel
The only problem is, that it maximises the window. I want to maximise the window so that its maximised within mIRC and then minimise it so that I return to my defualt mirc background without any windows on top. If im not being clear, tell me and ill provide some pics.

Let me see if I get this:

You want to join a channel and have it maximized UNDER the current open window in mirc??

I (*think* I) know what he means, don't know how to resolve what he wants though...

If you upen mIRC and have the status window tiled (as opposed to maxamise) when you open another window (be it channel/custom etc) it is also tiled.

i.e. it is not set to fit in the whole mIRC window.

Code:
 -----------------------------------
|M|mIRC - [Status]            |_||X|
|-----------------------------------|
|                                   |<---Main mIRC Window
|  __________________               |
| | Status     |_||X|<-------------|---Status Window
| |--- ______________|___           |
| |   | #Channel   |_||X|          |
| |   |------------------|          |
| |   |                |^|          |
| |   |                |-|          |
| |   |                | |<---------|---Channel Window
| |   |                |[color:#666666][/color]|          |
| |   |                | |          |
| |___|                | |          |
| |___|                |-|          |
|     |________________|_|          |
|     |__________________|          |
|                                   |
|-----------------------------------|
||Status|#Channel|@Custom|          |<-----Toolbar (Window List)
 -----------------------------------

Basically, these windows are tiled. He wants to open a window, maxamise it (not Restore) so it fits the main mIRC window, and then minimise it

Why can't you just do the following:

/join -x #channel
/join -n #Channel

This way, when you send the first /join command, mIRC opens the window maximised. Now, when you send a second /join command and you are already in the channel, mIRC simply switches to that channel window.

Can't test it because I'm not able to connect to a server, BUT, I did try it on custom windows...

/window -x @Test
/window -n @Test

and if I am in @Test window while it is maximised, and type /window -n @Test, it minimises...

Worth a try...
