Second attempt at posting...

I am having trouble playing some MP3 files via the /splay command. The files "play", but there is no audio. Other MP3 files play fine. When I play the files in question in WinAmp, there is no problem. Someone suggested the bitrate if the files might be too high for mIRC to handle. Anything known about limitations imposed on MP3 files?

mIRC uses MCI to play the files I think, if so, then the problem would be with MCI.

And, how would we address this issue? Like, what is MCI to begin with?

Media Control Interface (MCI) provides a high-level, device-independent interface for controlling multimedia devices on the system and is the recommended method for controlling multimedia devices in Windows.
