I removed the ini file and mIRC was able to generate a default and startup. I replaced it with the original file and this time just removed the alias and remote entries. mIRC still crashed, even when no scripts were loaded. Any ideas? And FYI this configuration has worked for me for a while now... I didn't make any changes... don't know why it's crashing all of a sudden. I'd like to know if it's the ini file itself (or if maybe something is messed up with one of my resource files referenced in it). Seifer Fjord artisan S Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 228 Melbourne, Australia	I doubt it's the mirc.ini but more likely one of the 60 remote scripts you have loaded. Moving the mirc.ini file you've shown then moving it back doesn't mean you've unloaded all the scripts listed. As long as they're listed under [rfiles] in the mirc.ini, mIRC will reload them on startup. My suggestion is that you copy the mirc.exe and mirc.ini (the one you're having problems with) to another folder and then run it from there.

But like I said I completely removed the rfiles and afiles sections of the ini file and it still crashed. I'll try what you suggest. [Edit: It still happens even with just the mirc.exe and mirc.ini file in their own directory. However it gets far enough to create "Channel" and "download" directories.] Actually the interesting thing is that the main mIRC window stops responding but the system tray icon works fine. I'm gonna try to disable chunks of the INI file until stuff starts working, and narrow it down. [Edit: I got it! If I turn DDE server off the problem disappears. This is just a guess but it's PROBABLY related to AMIP (which also uses DDE) crashing winamp.] Last edited by The_Mega_ZZTer; 06/01/05 03:09 PM.
