It cant be done so when somone post to an older post "that maybe are in page 5 or somthing", then when you open that section of the message bord, then you jump to the right page ? its not fun to have to browse true 5 pages if you are on a slow connection, and then just discover its a corection of a post and no new answer. im on a modem from time to time "when im not home", and it would save allot of waiting time spent infront of the screen.. "hope u understand what i mean".. ! smile

this is one of those reasons why I commented on the "time limit" with the board. The older version allowed you to do thigs like "newer than 2 days" etc but the new board cant. IIRC, some of the reasoning was database wear/tear

Oh, I know what you're saying. It would be nice if we could "sort newest thread/post in thread first" kind of thing to limit the scrolling needed. As it stands, I only read the first page of listings anymore. I dont have (call my impatient if you will) the patience to scroll thru 5 pages of posts just to find that rare one that might be new

assuming i'm understanding you right, isn't the "jump to first unread post" in the thread thingie working for you? its just above the first post in a thread if you've read some of them already.

hrm. seems to me that as long as i've cleared the history, mine does jump right to the unread post(s), i'll have to check.

[later note: yep, new post on page 5 of a thread, jumped right to it]

*hands landon a chocolate chip cookie and hopes for coffee*

its working ok for me when i set it within each forum to show active within last day, last 2 days etc. (altho i sometimes have to reset it when i wander off and get sidetracked for too long). Sometimes tho it has indicated there's page 2, but clicking on page 2 doesnt have any posts listed. No clue why, since i've tried resetting to a diff active, and none appear to have been missed that were within the intial date range.

Looks like clicking on Active Topics or at the bottom of the main index "view recent...past 24 hours etc" works ok, but i havent checked extensively

*offers up some coffe w/PB cookies*

Yeah, but we cant set it as default anymore. Gotta keep changing it over and over adn over. I realise the DB issues and all, but I really liked that feature; made it easy for me to keep up without having to change it all the time

Hmm. I don't experience this problem at all. The forum always jumps straight to unread posts for me.
