Hello there,

I found this problem while making a script that interacts with the nicklist.
Sometimes when i join a room i can't see al nicknames in the room.
I thought it was me, but some other guys had it to in there script...
So we used an older mirc version 6.13 and the nicknames where really in the room.
After a while i downloaded a clean copy of mirc and installed it...
and again the same problem...
Some nicknames were missing...
The nicknames that are missing are random and not always the same with the wierd signs in them.
I couldn't find a specific order or so...

Hope i have informed you enough...

(sorry for the flaws in my english)

Grtzz Tim

Are you sure what that is caused by mIRC ?
Try to see if that missing nicks are really sended, type /debug @debg and join your channel..
Also specify what network you use, every time you report a bug please try to test on the latest mIRC version

There are IRCds, such as Unreal, that have the auditorium channel mode. When that is on, only a few nicks are visible in the nicklist, while the rest is hidden. Maybe is that the case?

If not, then I have no idea smirk

There was no offical version 6.13, 6.13 is probably a virus.

I had this problem in the mIRC 6.16

I just used an older version(6.13) to see if it had the same problem.
And the older version(6.13) didn't have this problem..

The new version (6.16) did

So i don't think it has something to do with the server
(server = rawirc.nl)
Even if mIRC 6.13 is unofficial or a virus, it still works better with the nicklist

Maybe this makes it a little more clearer

6.13 doesn't EXIST - it is not a version of mIRC, it's probably a virus-filled 6.12. Please show at least a bit of care you could be infected with a trojan, it probably connects a GT Bot and gets used for attacks against the IRC networks WE use, so you would be affecting us. If you're determined to use an older version of mIRC, use an official one, most can be downloaded here. Use the resources in this thread to clean your computer.

I've never experienced this issue with EFnet/Undernet/DALnet/IRCnet or any other network I've connected to. I can't see this being an issue with mIRC itself.

Never mind.
You can delete this post if you ask me.

It's not about the mIRC 6.13 or a trojan (which i don't have)
It's about 6.16 not handling the nicklist the right way.
But you don't understand me.

Good luck with everything

Grtzz

I did address your bug report too, I understand the point of your post is not 6.13, but we all get affected by other people not caring about their computers, so it's important to address that issue if it arises.

As I said "I've never experienced this issue with EFnet/Undernet/DALnet/IRCnet or any other network I've connected to. I can't see this being an issue with mIRC itself." - nobody else seems to have experienced this issue, making it less likely to be the mIRC program, and more likely to be a script or IRCd issue. We'll find out in the future I guess, lets hope future versions work okay for you smile

We never see a 6.13 version, can you make a screen-shot of the About window for our collection?;)
Also try to type //debug -pt @debug in your mIRC command line ? There is unprocessed data what server send to mIRC.. So if there you can't find missing nicks, then cause is for sure not client->mIRC..
Also you can try to run both mIRC 6.16 and "6.13" and join same time the same channel.. To see..
