Forums Connection Issues Can't DCC Send and Chat.

Hi.
Im using MiRc 1.16 and im behind a 3rd Party Firewall : Zone Alarm Pro.

I been getting messages from Op Friends that my ports are blocked cause they have an ~ around my name everytime i log in the channel,so thats why i can't DCC Chat and Send.

Ive tried to set everything as mentioned on the site and all instruccions, and still can't DCC Chat or Send.

When i try to chat it shows:

Acknowlegding Chat request...

DCC Time out.

DCC Session Closed.

Im on DSL Connection and NOT behind a router.

If anyone knows how to fix this issue i would appereciate it.

I'll hazard a guess you are also using WindowsXP, and advise you to go turn off it's inbuilt firewall

Start > Control panel > go to Network connections window, right click on the one you use > Properties > Advanced, uncheck the box that says Protect

btw: i think you mean mIRC6.16 and not 1.16

And your right. im using Windows XP Home Edition.

I have the Windows Built-in firewall off by the way, cause its annoying.

But i can't either find those options you mentioned.
