Yes but if you ignore someone using the ignore command it ignores most CTCP events as well (if not all.) Maybe some people would rather not have that happen because it lets other people figure out that they are being ignored. As I said before I don't know of any use for this but maybe some people would like to keep their privacy of who they ignore.
