Just to add to the good advice given above, you might want to take a look at DALnet's
Ident FAQ (they set this up because of the amount of people who get AKilled due to not having IdentD installed). It answers many questions.
You can run a
Search for the problem too (try IdentD or Ident rather than AOL as the search term) - Expand to 'All Forums' and expand the date range to 'All Posts' for best results.
In most (if not all) DALnet AKills there is also a URL (website address) included which gives you an answer as to why you're AKilled. You should always read these URLs. Various DALnet AKill information is available
