Why not use the CTCP SCRIPT message (which is used by a fair amount of other scripts) to return your script's info. CTCP VERSION is for the IRC client's version. Some servers/channels use CTCP VERSION to do certain things, for instance tell people of a security issue in that version of the client they're using. Eliminating that ability so that you can spam your script - against the client developer's wishes - is pretty damn irresponsible.
