A prefix is actually a good idea, so from this aspect I rather like your suggestion. However, currently, the ".$ident" expression makes mirc execute the command
/.<value-of-ident>. The dot works as usual (silencer) here. So, instead of changing the parser like this, I think it would be simpler and cleaner if another character was used. Now that I think of it, why not the "!" ?
