It should display in the highlight colour. You can try this yourself by creating a highlight (Alt+B -> Highlight) with some arbitrary colour (say, red) and sending yourself a message with said highlight word inside Ctrl+K 1 (black). The message will show up as black instead of the expected red. This might be confusing to some.
