That's why the colours should just be *LOCAL*. You'd only get compatibility issues with older versions of mIRC...

How about something like:

$rc(r, g, b) would take the RGB value and insert some special magical control code (or something along those lines), with the RGB value after it. Obviously it should also include support for direct rgb values (i.e. $rc(57843))

Just my 2c. Someone will likely find a flaw.
