I discovered this too. Apparantly, /drawrot will crash somewhat randomly when looping it a number of times. And yes, I do count mIRC just closing without any error as a crash.
this code will do the trick... I'm not sure why either. Other people have tried it and have the same problem.
I'm running Windows 2003 Server, but it also failed on other OSs.
