It's also important to note that /vol doesn't work correctly in all cases under Vista. The -v "master" switch does not affect the entire system as described, and there are issues with muting. In fact, /vol under Vista will do exactly what the OP wants here-- change the volume for mIRC only. I guess the solution here is to upgrade to vista
