More information on what error(s) you're getting as well as the type of router that you have would be useful. We're not mind readers here.
I use an Xterasys router that works great without giving me any kind of hassle for transfers to/from others or to/from myself, or resuming those transfers. That doesn't mean it's the best out there, but it has worked great for me.
