I thought it was one of the remote scripts too. But like I said I completely removed the rfiles and afiles sections of the ini file and it still crashed.
I'll try what you suggest. [Edit: It still happens even with just the mirc.exe and mirc.ini file in their own directory. However it gets far enough to create "Channel" and "download" directories.]
Actually the interesting thing is that the main mIRC window stops responding but the system tray icon works fine.
I'm gonna try to disable chunks of the INI file until stuff starts working, and narrow it down.
[Edit: I got it! If I turn DDE server off the problem disappears. This is just a guess but it's PROBABLY related to AMIP (which also uses DDE) crashing winamp.]
