Hello,

Sorry if this topic has been mentioned before but I haven't if that was the case.

I have noticed that the Options window (also triggered with alt+e, alt+o, DCC Options, etc) is painfully long to open, in my case about 5 seconds between the click and the window appearance. During that time the mouse shows the busy animation.

My current set up is a Windows 10 Pro (22H2) and up to date. mIRC is not highly customized and nothing fancy: a few additional scripted aliases (to send messages on channels), a few menu lines added via popups, some display customizations through remote scripts (but nothing spectacular either, just change the format of some numerics/commands received from the server), no dlls are loaded. servers.ini is almost unchanged (~10 servers added from the original file) and mirc.ini is 12kB vs 2.7 kB for the original one, changes are mostly the window and font customization parameters.

I have tested on a fresh W10 and a fresh mIRC install and the same behaviour is seen (although it takes less time to open the Options, about 2 seconds which I still find very high). I haven't made any profiling in this case yet.

Has anyone experienced the same phenomenon?

Thanks.

It takes about 750ms to open on my computer, which I think is too long. Unfortunately, I cannot see a way to speed it up. The Options dialog has a huge number of settings/controls. The only solution would be to move some option groups to their own separate dialogs.

If you install mIRC using the "portable" option in the installer into a clean, empty folder and test that, on the same Windows 10 installation as your current mIRC, do you see the same issue?
