Might be related to the GUI bug here

https://forums.mirc.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/270692/script-editor-dropdown-ghost-image

In scripts editor, the Aliases Popups Remotes tabs - all correctly change the content of the 'view' menu when those are the active tab. However when the active tab is either Users or Variables, they show the same 'view' menu as for the 'remotes' tab.

When Users or Variables is the active tab, if you click on a listed script name from their 'view' menu, it jumps to the remotes tab and shows that script. But if you click on the 'More...' at the bottom, they just do nothing.

It's probably more friendlier for the user to fix the 'more' issue than to eliminate the view dropdowns. Unless there's something more helpful that could be shown instead, such as a 'more...' style listbox showing the first N variable names sorted alphabetically.
