Hi together.
Does anyone know something about a worm that changes the Ident everytime i (re)connect to irc?

An plz tell me the way to fix that problem!

There are more than one that will do that. One old one is aristotles, altho atm i cant think of names of some others (not enuf coffee yet).

Best thing to do is use one of the free online scanners like housecall at www.trendmicro.com and be sure to use the site to research whats found. In some cases there will be things you will need to manually deal with (especially if it says whatever is found is "uncleanable").

There is software available to track down many trojans, like Swat It and The Cleaner altho i think its a good idea to run a couple good virus scanners no matter what.

Ok... good tip, but do you know which (irc)files are influenced by that worm?

no, sorry but i cant give you specifics about what files are added or what if any registry changes are made. every worm is different, thats why you need to make use of the info pages at sites like trendmicro and symantec etc. The will give you details about removal of the specific worm found and what it effects. As i said, there's more than one that does what you describe
