Forums General Discussion Can't assign requested address/ Connection Timeout

These are my two messages as to why i cannot connect. It tells me Can't assign requested address and connection timeout. I really don't know what i'm doing and appreciate any walk through help i can get. It means a lot to me. How do i connect to something other than dalnet if that is what i'm trying to connect too.

Basically your problem is the same you cannot connect to DALnet because it is down due to attacks on the servers. I would just find another network to chat on for now til the problem is resolved.

This web page has links to info about other networks you can try. You can also, in the dialog that comes up when you open mIRC, where you click the Connect button, use the small upsidedown triangles to show you various networks.

Reading the posts at the top of the connection area of this forum will both explain why you cant connect to DALnet and some common connection errors in general.
