Ok yesterday I tried to connect to my mIRC and it gave me an error saying : "You are spreading a virus. Visit www.gamesurge.net/utils/gline/ and remove it (porn botnet).

* Disconnected"

When i click the link to remove it it does nothing. I scanned my computer for trojans, and nothing came up.

I scanned my computer for all viruses with nortan and a bunch came up but i couldnt delete them cuz they were in use.

If anyone knows alot about getting rid of viruses, and can connect to my computer on MSN Messenger and get rid of them it would be much appreciated or else if someone has a different solution to my problem.

dont even think about allowing a stranger to "connect to" your computer. yegawds, giving someone you dont know access to your computer could get you even more probs.

please use the resources available to help you clean your puter so you stop sending the trojans on to other ppl.

the only solution other than taking the time and patience to clean your puter would be to take it to a compter professional where you live

I doubt the virii on your machine is causing the problem though it's certainly possible.

What could be happening is that the spelling of your nickname could be seen by a security bot to be a spelling (lettering pattern) used by IRC warbots. Lose the ASCII characters and then email a server administrator to find out when these bans are removed. Once the ban is off try again.

If a7|vuL` was your nick or ident when you tried connecting, change it and try again - this sort of nick does look rather suspicious.

Shut down everything. Reboot. Try again.

Also try the online scanners listed, since a number of viruses can now prevent common antivirus products from working properly.

I go with ParaBrat on this one - never EVER let a stranger (or anyone else) access your computer from outside! You have absolutely NO reason to trust them, or to believe that they are who they say they are, or to assume that they will do only what you want them to. You could end up with no viruses but a heavily hacked/compromised computer instead, or with all your personal details (name, address, phone number, e-mail addresses, credit card numbers....) copied to be used for identity theft... This may sound harsh, but unfortunately that's the way it is.

Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode" this will boot your computer using only the NEEDED programs to make windows work. then try the norton scan again and you should be able to delete all if not most of the virii on there smile

a7|vuL`

if thats your ident, then i can inform you that you have a virii called sub7 trojan, and many networks block the number "7" cos its a known virii.. make shure u dont have 7 in your nick or in your identd ..
