My friend is going to be an OP on a chat network. He was wondering if there is a way to find out waht scripts/addons users have loaded in their mIRC, and this is to prevent users to have downloader, spam addons, and those annoying viruses that send message to any user which joins the channel.

My question is: Is it possible at all?
Can it be done with mIRC scripting?
If not, do you know of any software that is capable of such functuality?

Thanks

I know that some channels has the option to find out if the user uses XDCC Catcher and Bottler, but I asume that they can find it out easily, because those are full scripts that doesn't have the capability to chat.

I asume that he could kick them from the network... The problem is with some other addons. Some of them are melicious. I tought that there is no way to find out is someone using an addon...

Anyone else has an opinion on this one, or does everyone agry that there isn't anyway to find out what addon people have loaded?

Thanks.

they apparently reply when you request version info, but anyone who writes a addon must add a version reply else you dont get one. I dont reply to that whit any addon i have made, I dont see thats its relavant to tell someone what im (or someone using it) is using as an addon, not that i have written anything that is really annoying to others, but i would have to tell the truth and say that if i did, i would do my best to hide the fact its running, and thats not exactly likely to mean i would reply to a /ctcp nick version smile
