...then after few seconds I receive, status: connection failed... like this :

I've tried in other places but I keep getting the same message.

Everything was fine before. I used to receive these files without any worry. crazy
what could I do??maybe someone can help! plz

By the way, I use MIRC version 6.12

-do you see any msgs in your status window or other windows?

-check in mIRC's options (view/options)
under DCC to see if you have ignore all checked
under DCC/ignore to see if you are ignoring the file type
under other/lock to see if you have disabled gets

-the sender could be having a problem

-are you running any scripts/addons?

-check in the addy book (hold down your alt key and click the b key) under control, list type ignore to see if something is putting the sender on ignore

- you said all was well before, what happened at the same time the problem started? maybe you downloaded a script/addon? Does your isp have any limitations set?

Giving you the benefit of the doubt that you arent downloading from strangers/bots, ask the friend who is trying to send you a file if they see any error msgs or are having any probs sending to others

yes I see this message when my connection fails : You have a DCC pending, Set your client to receive the transfer. (150 seconds remaining until timeout)

Everything is ok here.

No, because my friends download from there and nobody had problems like me.

Routers and firewalls are doing this. Maybe you dont have a firewall installed but the one coming with XP might be activated.

Go in your control panel, look for administration tools then open services and look for something mentionning firewall. Right click on it and if you can "deactivate" it, it means it was ON so turn it off.

Check out this thread which helps with the DCC pending error message.

For future reference, it's important that you check out the sticky threads at the top of each Forum - they have been posted because a myriad of people post on the same topic. They can be identified because a "green person" posts them (Moderators) and they have a picture of a pin next to them.

It is also wise to use the Forum's Search feature before posting. Expand to 'All Forums' and expand the date range to 'All Posts' for best results with this.

Kommando: I think the best XP disabling/enabling instructions are available here (I deem them as the best because they are officially posted by Microsoft).

Happy chatting, and stay safe!

Menatlity: I read that thread before asking my question. I even searched in some old topics but nothing worked out. So I had nothing to do but to ask this question.

Update: I switched to my dial-up connection, then I tried to download from these bots and guess what? I recieved the files without any probems. But I'm not gonna use the dial-up connection, I just tried it. Now, I know that everything is O.K with my pc and mirc program. It looks like that the problem is my DSL connection. By the way, with my dsl connection I can download everything like direct links by using my download manager and I can save target as .etc.. But the problem is with my mirc downloads.
Now what are my options ??

Then you're going to have to contact your ISP - it's very likely they have you Firewalled, DSL connections tend to do that. Tell them which ports you need to be available, and ask how to set it up. You need two (preferably consecutive) ports in the range of 1024-5000 (for example, 4001-4002).

You might now run a search on "DSL" instead of DCC if you haven't already, many DSL issues have been covered smile

G'luck!
