Wouldn't it be nice to have an option in the Links window (/links) to add a server in the links list to your Servers.ini?

Not in my opinion.../links information is sent to you via the server, not mIRC. What's more, many big networks have disabled /links, and DALnet recently changed the /links output to only reveal active client servers, so it wouldn't show.

/links is there to provide you with a list of servers for a network - including a link to the servers.ini submission page is *imo* irrelevant to it's job and pointless.

My 2 cents!

Yes, it would be quite useful.

Nup, disagree with you there M. wink I'd dearly love to be able to add servers from /links directly into my own server list.

I gave up using the default servers.ini ages ago - it's fabulous if you don't know where you're going (no argument there), but obviously it can't hope to include every single server on every single network. A quick'n'dirty means of adding new ones from /links would be very handy, thank you very much laugh

Hmm, I think I slightly misunderstood the original suggestion...I assume now that he means being able to add a server into the servers.ini list that exists when you download mIRC, like you could with ALT+O > Connect > Add.

It doesn't really matter to me personally, but I haven't got anything against it in that case...I thought he meant a link to mirc.co.uk/help/serverlist.txt smile

I really must stop posting before 7am!

/links often includes services and opers servers that are not meant to be available for regular users, and the port number is missing too.

You could always script it. I scripted one that (mind you this is for my personal needs) regroups all the servers in my ini file to "old" then performs a /links and updates the groups with the network name. This works great for ONE network but I have NOT done it for multi as I dont do multi
