Hi, I used the search and I couldnt find anything so if this is a repost I am sorry. I was wondering is there a way when I double click the MIRC shortcut on the desktop that it wont bring up a whole new one. When Mirc is minimized I want to be able to double click the shortcut and it will bring up the MIRC already running and not a new one.

that is imposible, shortcut is behaving to ALL programs/files the same, every new running of any kind of shortuct that is linked to any kind of file WILL open that file from start (new) again and again

No say you have AIM, if you double click AIM it opens your buddy list, it doesnt open a whole new thing. As does winamp.

Some programs have an option to allow "single instance only" - the popular freeware graphics viewer IrfanView is one. Clicking the shortcut a second time will open the original instance again, not a new instance.

mIRC does not have a "allow single instance only" option - perhaps someone should suggest it on the appropriate board? wink
