Please make mIRC with emotional grapic replacement for emotional text, ie:

:-) with
:-( with
:-D with
:-P with :tongue:

and etc
both at channel and private window.

and Make that setting can enable or disable at mIRC options.

This has been suggested numerous times before. The general consensus is that it is a bad idea.

I have a feature suggestion that I think would make mIRC really really keen. How about if you add Disney themes. We could have really neato Disney character icons for our little friends in our nick lists. You could make the girl colors for girls and boy colors for boys. And you could do other characters as well, you could do a Barbie theme, or Blues Clues themes or maybe the Warner Bros. cartoon theme. I would just LOVE to have a Tasmanian Devil icon .. that would be the coolest .. and.. and.. and.. not.

ya know your subtle humor on the subject is just too over board. really i could see several uses for allowing the use of graphical smilies... actually no id not use them .. but what i foresee as an added benefit is able to have images incorporated with your text much likve visual irc does... where they can add a tdl flag next to the whois and such. thats what i would like to see ... the ability to incorporate images in our texts if we so choose. and no im not asking this be added on a global level ..... just local values where we can replace text with images. that to me would be the ideal way of adding this. it would open up mirc for a whole new appearance ... say for example i dont wanna see * join SOMENICK

instead i wanna see *image_of_opendoor SomeNICK

now how is that going to make mirc bad? its not ... its going to improve upon it and make it even that much better to use.

ah, being able to replace the text with smileys yourself wouldn't be such a bad idea, because then people will stop asking for it!, i would HATE mirc to turn into an msn chat clone ;\

I agree, I would hate to see mIRC degrade to anything
resembling MSN-IM or AIM. Something like this would
just take it one step closer to the mickey mouse clubs

oh no not just doing smilies doing other things. check the example i gave. im not saying we send things like that out to the global chat community . just for use with visual appearance of your own screen. i could care less about anyone elseseeing the images i see on my chat screen.

thats why i said only seeing the images yourself might be a nice feature.
i just wouldn't want somebody to type :-D and me see an image.
i agree that being able to use a $replace($1-,:-D,<some image>) would be a good idea.
maybe a $replaceimg identifer

yeah that would be a nice method of perfroming that action but really the implementation is up to khaled, id just love for mirc to head in that direction as opposed to becoming more IM like

good point but as of late he has kinda turned around on us and actually made some decent input not related to msn, maybe hes finally learned.

i stopped using msn 3 months ago.
i only ever used it because that's where most of the people i know(who use computers) go to.
i used mirc because i hate the proper clients interface.
how can i use msn now that it's closed in the uk?, get your facts straight before you post.
