If you are lucky to find a eggable shell for free, then it mostley cant connect to any irc-servers .. and the best help you can get is included in the eggdropx.x.x.tar.gz .. "the docs"

I was also searching for one for a long time, with no avail. If you can't afford a shell, look around, maybe one of your friends can let you use his account.

Yes, you have eggdrop "for unix/linux" Dancer "unix/linux" windrop "for windows" and mirc bot "for windows", so all u need is a friend with a computer hooked up to the net 24/7.. then you should be able to have a bot..

Even if you have no friends willing to let their boxes become potential DoS targets, shells needn't be expensive...

There are shell providers offering deals for $6-10 a month (or less!) now including multiple background processes (bots), able to access major IRC networks like IRCnet and DALnet.
