I use netcaptor as my default browser, when i double click a link in mirc it uses Internet explorer, howevr everywhere else in windows it uses netcaptor. I did notice that if i do /run www.yahoo.com in mirc it opens with netcaptor, if i do /url www.yahoo.com it opens in IE. any ideas?

i know about the addons that can potentially fix this problem. I thought mirc 6.1 was supposed to fix it already.

so mirc 6.1 doesnt fix the default browser problem then? It opens in the correct browser for aim, explorer, word, EVERYTHING except mirc. So i guess mirc still need fixin.

Hmm, been reading your post about the deafult bowser probelm you have in mIRC V6.1
I use Avant Browser as my default browser and any link i click on in mIRC, it asks me about the warning of potential website nasties and when i click "Yes" it opens up Avant or opens up a new Tab within Avant, i ditched IE months ago.
Corn, what Operating system do you have ?
Because i found an interesting feature that was a windows update to windows XP Pro (maybe Home too) But if i goto my start menu and look just below the "Control Panel" i see the new addition called "Set Program Acces and Defaults"
Within that program, you can choose what you would like as your Default Browser, be it NutScrape, or Opera or whatever you use. I dont think this will work for any other operating systems other than XP
Hope this helps

yeah i have windows xp, that "program access defaults" feature was added in the Service Pack 1 update. I have tried playing with it, it is set correctly. As ive said netcaptor appears to be my default browser for EVERYTHING except for mirc. So im thinking mirc is simply looking at the wrong variable to determine my default browser? I mean what are all these other programs looking at to know that netcaptor is my default bowser, and why cant mirc do the same?

Even though he said that wasn't his problem, I'll just mention, Windows 2000 definately has the program access and defaults setting as well. I forget which service pack is needed, but it does have it.

tbh, i dunno, you say you think it could be a wrong variable, hmm, maybe its a script interfering with it, that is assuming you have a script, i dont know much about this issure really, as i have no probs with V6.1 of mIRC and Avant Browser my default browser.
