Forums mIRC Help why cant i connect?

I was currently at axenet.org because I was looking for a descent electronic mp3 channel. on the site their were a couple i found one #mp3dance it says click here to connect to channel had 2 options java or mirc, the java of coursed worked and the room does exist but when i tried to connect thrue mirc it said Connecting to \irc.axenet.org\mp3dance (6667)

kept saying that for ever n ever. am i not connecting to the right server or what am I doing wrong? if somebody could please answer my question that would be great thank you.

connect to irc.axenet.org not \irc.axenet.org\mp3dance
to connect with mIRC, type /server irc.axenet.org -j #mp3dance

See the backslash?
It shouldn't be there, connect to irc.axenet.org and then join the channel.

That should work.
