everyone in private chat can send me a

/sound filename

and i hear it fine but one user can not. When she tries she gets a
[NICKNAME|#CHANNEL] Unknown command error and hears nothing
on her side and it appears i never get the command either so i hear
nothing as well.

we both have the same sound in our default sound folder and i can send a

/sound filename

to her and we both hear it play.

She tried /sound NICK FILENAME

and still gets the [NICKNAME|#CHANNEL] Unknown command error
even when supplying my nick which has me stumped.

any idea what is wrong? it appears to be on her side since
everyone else can /sound to me just fine.

The strange part is i can /sound to her and it works but she can
not to me. we both have mirc 6.0.3 and both have sound requests turned on

thoughts?

thanks,

Zep

I'm guessing that she has an alias called "sounds" that is replacing the default /sounds command, the ! will make mIRC ignore aliases and use the default mIRC /sounds command.

yes that worked! thanks

however we searched high and low and can't find an alias.

her alias only has the default stuff. I looked in the remote scripts area also and nothing.

is there a way to find what is aliased to /sound or reset it back so she doesn't need to use !

thanks

Tell her to type this:
//echo -a $isalias(sound).fname
and it should echo the name of the file that the alias is in, hopefully that will help you find it.
