Sorry, if this has been answered before, but I couldn't find it by using search

I can't seem to convince mirc to accept DCCs automatically in my absence (I know that's a good thing in many ways, but sometimes when I am waiting for a download from a busy server, it's just easier to turn auto-get on). It used to work for me in older versions, but I can't do it any more (I now use a licenced copy of v6.03).

I go to FILE / OPTIONS / DCC and set "Auto-get file" (and "minimize", but it doesn't work with minimize on or off); I also have "Auto-accept" for chat requests.

What else should I be looking for? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

what error msgs do you see? are you sure you arent ignoring the file type/sender?

No error messages at all... there is just the usual dialogue box which requires me to manually accept the DCC, or it times out.

I am not sure what you mean by "ignoring the file type/sender"... I may well be overlooking something, but being ignorant about the ins and outs of mirc, I am not even sure what you are referring to here. Where do I need to look for those settings, and what should they be?

Thank you for your assistance.

You double checked to be sure you have autoget checked in file/options/dcc? did you click the "trusted" button and be sure you dont have it set to trusted users only?
-you could have a script blocking users. mite check in the addy book (click on the icon or hold down your alt key and click the b key) under ignore to see if any names are there
-file/options/general/lock. anything checked there?
-the network could require you to dccallow the sender for certain file types
-file/options/dcc/folders, look in the dcc ignore area
-the sender could be using fserv and sent you a msg to enable yours
-the sender could be the one with the problem
-are you sure the file in question wasnt already on your machine? (mIRC would then ask what you want to do with it if you have it set to do that)
