Hi Khaled,

MDI on Windows needs to be fixed, this is already happening in version 7.79 and currently in beta versions 7.79.1430 and 7.79.1441.

Being tested on Windows 11 Pro Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3476)

Thanks for your bug report. I have not been able to reproduce this here so far.

Was this happening in previous version of mIRC as well? Or only in v7.79?

Does it happen the moment you start mIRC or after you do something specific?

If you change the Windows color settings in Windows Settings/Personalization/Colors, does a specific setting there fix/cause the issue?

It happens when I open any mIRC windows, Query, channels, custom windows and any other.

I have transparency effect mode active and using Windows Spotlight.

Sometimes this happens when Windows spotlight changes the background of the picture.

Okay, I am still not clear about when this is happening. If you follow these steps:

1) Install a clean copy of mIRC in an empty folder using the "portable" option in the installer.
2) run this copy of mIRC.

Do you see the issue in the Status Window titlebar the moment mIRC appears?

As I explained previously, in the status, channels or queries windows I see the problem, so when I open mIRC in the first status window that opens the problem appears, it just never happens in the mIRC titlebar:

But status windows sometimes appear, but as you can check the color of the status window is the same as the mIRC titlebar:

This is because in Windows 11 it is possible to enable the transparency effect in the color settings and then Windows adjusts all windows with the tones of the image defined on the desktop.

And what happens is that sometimes all mIRC windows do not update the color when the transparency effect is enabled.

If I turn off the transparency effect, everything is normal.

mIRC window without transparency effect:

The problem is that once mIRC updates the color in the windows and other times it doesn't, it's something random.

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to know.

Great. That helps narrow down the cause. I haven't been able to reproduce this so far here but I have an idea why this might be happening now.
