Forums Connection Issues Info on the SSL connections and DCC method

I'm using mIRC 7.47 with Windows 7 SP1 64 bit.

How do I check whether an IRC server accepts an SSL connection?

If I were using the DCC method to send and receive files from a channel, the SSL protocol is still applied if I were to establish an SSL connection with the IRC server?

The majority of IRC networks listen on port 6697 for ssl.

Some networks might list the ssl ports in the MOTD or on the networks website. You can try connecting via port 6697 and see what happens.

As far as DCC, no idea.
