Hi.

Hi have a fresh (registered) install of 7.29 installed portable on a USB stick.

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. Context menu has disappeared. You say you fixed that in this version actually, but probably not entirely! laugh

Thought i let you know.
Forum search for 'context menu' on forum doesnt give much useful other than 'mirc is hard to use' hehe.

Nothing to do except restart mIRC, I guess?

Thanks for your bug report. There have been a number of menu-related changes in recent versions but I don't think there were any changes related to this particular issue.

Which context menu are you having an issue with? Is it the right-click popup menu that appears in the status window? Channel Window? Query window? All of them? The popup menus for these windows are stored in the popups.ini file. If you open the Script Editor, select the Popups section, and use the View menu to switch between the different menu types, do you see them defined in the editbox? Or is the editbox empty?

When did the issue first appear? Did it appear immediately after you installed a new version of mIRC?

Hello!

I did a complete reinstall of mIRC and the problem persist. I also removed all nondefault scripts and some highlight settings i used to have.

It is the right-click menu for nicks in both the nicklist to the right and the nicks in the channel window as well. Also in status window.

Context menu for channels/networks to the left works.

Edit: However, context menu for channel names in the channell windows also works as intended. It seems only to be the nickname context menu (where you could do whois, DCC, etc)

Edit 2: Another interesting artifact is that the editbox at the bottom of the chat (the one you type stuff into) highlights when right clicking a nick on the right in the nicklist, but not when clicking nicks in the channel window.

Popups are not defined. All the tabs are empty.

Hope this helps. smile

And thanks for replying !

If you install mIRC to your "Documents" folder in Windows, using the "Portable" option in the installer (this will make sure that it does not use/affect your current settings) and then run mIRC from that folder, do you still see the same issue?

Alternatively, if you try the beta version of mIRC (see the "mIRC Beta" link at the top of the "Bug Reports" forum), does that resolve the issue for you?

I had this problem too, with version 7.43. I had 7.19 installed before that, and I installed 7.43 to a different directory without uninstalling 7.19 and without doing a portable install. Context menus wouldn't pop up when right-clicking on nicks, either in the channel or in the nicks list. They also stopped working for 7.19 after installing 7.43, where they had previously worked.

I did what you said and installed 7.43 in My Documents in portable mode, and now for that installation context menus work.
