It would be nice to change mirc's process priority to either Above Normal, Normal, or Below Normal.

Maybe also a high priority event that is triggered when CPU / Memory resources are being rapidly consumed so that some action beside CTRL-Break can be taken...

Firstly, you could have posted this in your other thread as well.

No need for a second one.

But anyway, if you are running Windows 2000 or XP, or even NT4 (I think), you can allocate it higher or lower priority by using the task manager. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL then select the process, right click, and go to Set Priority.

I'm not sure about Mac's, but I'm sure there would be a similar feature in the OS.

It's a completly different subject...

And I am well aware of what task manager can do, point is you can't do it from scripts... smile

Personally speaking, I wouldn't want to be able to change the process priority for any app from within the app itself, simply because it is the OS that assigns priority to a running process depending on whether it's a service, or whatever.

That is why I think it is better to change it all from the task manager :P

The OS assigns normal priority to everything... Some apps change their priority, but the OS by it's self doesn't.

What did you think Windows was actually smart?

heheh
