Odd. I started a blank mIRC, loaded the script, entered in my info, went into the server list, change the "chat.freenode.net" into "irc.freenode.net" (since i use irc. instead of the chat. one.)
//server irc.freenode.net:+7000

KindOne Nickname is already in use.
*!KindOne@colchester-lug/silly-fool/donut KindOne You are now logged in as KindOne.
SASL authentication successful
(I had to "/nick KindOne_" since my KindOne nick was already in use. Usually, this only happens when I ping timeout since my ISP <insert_bad_words_here>. And within a minute or two, I reconnect as KindOne.)

What is your IRC nick? Some people with 'ls' in their nick need to do this:
Change "raw CAP:*LS*:{", and change it to "raw CAP:& LS *:{", line 95.
(if that change works, you can thank "Sat" or "Saturn", I forget his forum name.
