Hi Guys

I am new to mIRC and IRC in general. Had my first ever login into IRC yesterday. I liked the mIRC client so went ahead and purchased that too.

The channel I am in is fairly quiet, and I would like to get a notification of sound (a beep or something) to let me know a message has been posted into the channel. I want the notification no matter what message has been posted, even if it is an alert telling me people joined/exited the channel.

I have gone into the Tools > Settings > Sound options, and ticked all that is there, but I still do not get sound. Not on channel alerts, and not on when people send messages !

I am using Windows 8 Pro x64, but the Client is for 32Bit I believe.

I would greatly appreciate some help in getting this sorted.

Thank You.

J.

Verify that sounds are enabled (not just individual sounds, but the master sound setting). Also, if you use "beep" for the sound, then "beep" needs to have a sound associated with it in Windows. Otherwise, choose a sound file instead of "beep" and see if that works for you.
