Forums mIRC Help mirc is lagging all the time

does anybody know how to fix this problem? mirc keeps "freezing" every 30 secs or so for few secs. very annoying. intrnet connection is fine. any ideas? tnx.

Do you have scripts/dll's loaded in your mirc?

it helps if you show us the output from pasting this command:

//echo -a $os $version $md5($mircexe,2) $file($mircexe).sig $alias(0) $script(0) $dll(0) $com(0) . $chan(0) $ial(*,0)

and also see if there's a timer that repeats around the same interval as the problem: /timer

and "no active timers" . what does this mean? im crap with all this stuff....thank you

You have some script loaded, if you type: /timers in mirc, what does it display?

Or test with: /remote off <- to turn remote off, see if that helps, if not just type: /remote on

You can type the text in any window.

$script(0) always returns at least 1. The user probably doesn't have any sizable scripts running-- but who knows.


I would suggest upgrading to 7.25 as 7.17 is outdated by now.

I dont know about anyone that have problem with 7.17, dont think thats the problem, i still using 7.17 and working just fine for me..

You can check to see what your buffer is set to. If it's set too high for your system, it can cause some freezing. Alt-O > Other. Although you'd probably want it higher than 500, try setting it to that to see if it makes any difference. 500 should work on just about any computer.

Also keep in mind that freezing in one application can be caused by another application. If you close all of your other programs, do you still freeze?

and yeah, have 1 script loaded, but it was working fine up to few weeks ago...anyway mirc stopped freezing, thank you everybody
