Have the Edit Box keep it's position on exit if it's moved

Which "edit box" are you referring to?

- argv[0] on EFnet #mIRC

By "moved" do you mean "resized"? Because editboxes cannot be "moved". This is why it is useful to describe your suggestion with more than one broken sentence.

i think he means that if you grab the titlebar to drag the window elsewhere, that he wants the next time the window opens to be in the different location instead of always opening to the same spot.

I believe the user is referring to the resize width of the second editbox. This would be more clear if the OP explained it properly.

You can already do this, at least if you can accept your setting applying to all windows. The method is undocumented, however. Close mIRC, open mirc.ini in a text editor, locate its [options] section, and in that section, find the 18th item on the n7= line. It should default to "70" (which means 70%). To achieve the approximate size depicted by your image, change it to "90" (for 90%).

I don't know why that option exists in mirc.ini yet isn't controllable via mIRC's GUI. Design oversight? (Another also-undocumented width option: item 29 on n4= under [options] controls the default nicklist width in pixels. It defaults to 0, and will affect any windows not already defined in [nicklist].)

My mistake. n4= #29 is set by adjusting a channel window's listbox width, then checking "Set as default" in its system menu's Nick List popup box.

I still don't see any way of saving the editbox width (including checking "Set as default" in a channel window's system menu Edit Box popup box). Guess it's a bug.
