Is there an identifier that returns the channel on which the notice is received?

If it was a channel notice: $chan

I'm also looking for an identifier for the private notice as well; $chan doesn't work and $target returns $me
(This is for a theme script that I'm making.)

You probably just want $nick as target in that case.
