Forums mIRC Help Help with 'Perform' function

Hi everyone!

I'm new to IRC (and mIRC), and also new to this forum! *waves*

I'm having problems getting the 'Perform' function to work the way I want!

I have checked the 'perform on connect' box, and under the network that I use (Everywherechat), I have the following Perform commands:
/nick _mynick_
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY _mypassword_
/join #_channel_ _channelkey_

However, when I start mIRC, it connects up to Everywherechat just fine, and I see the usual prompts that ask me for a password, all the way up till "-NickServ- Password accepted - you are now recognized."

However, it does not join my channel automatically. I see 'You need to identify to join this channel' before the '-NickServ- Password accepted - you are now recognized.' prompt.

Am I doing something wrongly here?

Your not doing anything wrong.. except <wink>...

The network needs time to process the identify of your nickname.
by adding the command to perform without some delay, the join command is being done BEFORE the network has had a chance to procss your request for identity.

I would suggest you look at: /help /timer
and do the join of the channel after a timer delay.

This should resolve your problem
