Some servers in RusNet IRC network has UTF-8 codepage support. All data being encoded internally and then sent to user. Everything seems to be fine untill:

Kvirc works great tho:

and IRSSI:

Server to check: irc.tambov.ru, port 7770
UTF-8 encoding and decoding (in /font settings) are set by default.

Its a known issue. Khaled is working on much better UTF support and it ought to be released in the next update. Though, it may be a while. From the sound of it, he has to go through a lot of code to make sure its working 100%.

Please don't pointlessly bump threads, especially less than a week after the initial post. People are able to read threads on their own.

Have you tried this with a font that properly supports unicode? Fixedsys (mIRC's default) does not.

Oh, I didn't know. Tbh, search by "UTF" keyword gave me nothing, so, I decided to post an issue.

That wasn't pointless actually, ya'now. There was a point, obviously.

But well... now I got the answer, thanks Thrull. Will wait for that implementation in .36 or 40.
