Hello, I hade upgraded from (I believe 6.30) to the current 6.35 and in doing so apparently have a fresh working edition of MIRC. However I would like to have the information (i.e. windows I had in favorites, etc) that were setup in my old mirc. I did allow it to backup but do not know if there is a way to incorporate the settings from the older version into the newer one or if I have to uninstall or take some other action.

It's odd and I don't know if it has anything to do with certain issues but I have always had mirc in c:\program files\mirc directory but it also shows up in c:\documents and settings\username\application data\mirc.

I mention this because I attempted to put in the information the pops up in the beginning of launching MIRC (where it asks for the full name, email address, nickname, etc) and connect and no apparent problem but upon launching it again the window remains blank.

Any help is of course appreciated,

Sorry, apparently I am slow on the uptake. Since I had installed to program files\mirc I assumed that is where I would need to make any changes or put future versions of MIRC. After taking the settings in the documents..\username\application data\mirc\backup folder into the mirc of the same subdiretory all settings seem to be restored. I assume in the future I would want to put the updated version into the app. folder.

Thank you for having this forum though. I'm sure it will help quite a lot.

Take care,

For future reference, you could've used the Upgrade setting in the mIRC installer, in which case all of your settings would've been transferred automatically.

Thank you, sir; I would assume I somehow missed that option when putting in the updated version. Oh well, at least I learned from it smile

Take care,
