Forums mIRC Help 2 mirc's open problem.

Back in the older versions of mirc, you could have 2 mirc's open and not have problems with scripts for each mirc interrupting eachother. I was coding on my bot earlier, and saved the code. I went to my other mirc and noticed it says vars.ini and other files and such had been changed, and asked did want to reload them. I want to prevent this. I know there has to be a way.

Yeah sure that way works for me if i want 2 mIRC's for the sake of it but, i want to use PNP script in one and NOT in the other. PNP has applied itself to both mIRCs due to the mIRC directory taking itself to the appdata folder, which sux. Unloading it brings up all sorts of rubbish on screen in channels. Ye ye i know pnp is no longer special i just like the way the blacklist 'right click nick and BANG', works. OK, geniusatwork, make my day again. Cheers

Hmm? I don't know if you meant to reply to me then, but both methods I describe in the post I linked to above would allow you to run completely different scripts in each mIRC setup.

Then i am doing something repeatedly wrong with Method 1. I have tried it so many times i've got mIRC for eyes. I can't get it to seperate the 2 clients, No matter which i open first they both have the same settings still, like two of one, not two different ones

His instructions are accurate. Create two empty folders and install a "Full" copy of mIRC 6.35 into each. Go to the "defaults" directory in one of the folders you created and copy mirc.ini to the directory above it. You will now have two mIRC installations. One will use the Application Data folder for its settings, the other will use its own installation directory.

Note that if you are on Vista and UAC is enabled then this will not work within the Program Files directory.
