Forums mIRC Help Problem with joining channels

Hi there!

Since i moved to a new apartment, i've been having problems with joining channels. I
dont have a problem with connecting to the server, but after that, when the small window pops up about what channel to join, it gets messy.

Or not really messy, nothing happens at all. The channel window disappears when i type in the channel i want to join.
So i'm back in the status window again. If i type /join #shinsen-subs (example since it's one of the channels i always join :p), still, nothing happens. No error messages, no nothing.

Anyone know what problem i have and how to solve it?

EDIT: Seems i only have problems with Rizon server, can it be a problem with the local host on that server?

EDIT2: Sorry, forgot what versions. Latest mIRC and Windows XP.

Any text in your status window? cos i don't think it's a server related problem, maybe your "new" host are banned? or the channel is set +k or +i ?

There's welcometext and the usual with "looking up hostname, found hostname" and so on.

Dont know what the channel is set on, as i cant enter it or find any info on their website. It might be that the host is banned, but wouldn't it say so in the status window? It doesn't.

have you tried adding the channel to your channels folder and using the auto join feature as well

Is it possible to change the host if there's a problem with that one?

Your host is provided by your ISP, so the only way that I know of to change that, is to change your ISP

or you can use a bnc to get a new host.

Found something that differs Rizon server from any other server. When i log on, it says as normal "Checking Hostname, Found Hostname" and so on.

It says this:
Your host is masked (Rizon-1CB20E8F.bredband.comhem.se)

I guess that is the problem, any of you heard of it?

Check and see if you set any flags, like //mode $me +x or what they use on that net. Remove any flags that arent +i +w, //mode $me -flag

sometimes the server will autoset a masked host. There was a network I went to that did just that on join.......... or was it on identify? no matter, it did it none the less

I FIXED IT!

If someone else gets this problem here's what i did:

Go to settings, Connect, Local Info. In my screen, it said "On connect, always get: Local Host or IP address."

Local Host was marked, so i just tried to switch to IP address instead, and it worked!

Finally time for new anime!
